Velocity 128 https://jonathan23rd.com/velocity-128 The duo of Eric Garwood (Iterations) & Jonathan Lim formed Velocity 128 in 2017 for their monthly synthwave performances at Betamax Video Club in Washington, DC. The music being released are studio versions of their live production and improvisational performances. Jonathan has since relocated to Portland, Oregon while the duo continues to produce music and perform live on both coasts.

We are finally venturing into PDX territory with our latest edition of SynthCadia! You asked and we listened and we're extending the summer for just a bit longer with some retro synth tunes and 2 new djs to our lineup on August, 28th, 2025.

@kidd.nostalgia has been tearing up the live scene, recently opening for the likes Com Truise, Deaths Dynamic Shroud and even bumping shoulders with Future Funk legends such as Englewood & Macross 82-99! Happy to have him dj this edition of SynthCadia

@sylvainsf is a new recent edition to the PNWC making his way down from Seattle and newly settling near the PDX area. He made a surprise appearance at our last SynthCadia with Alex Lightspeed and looking forward to his inclusion.

And of course SynthCadia always welcomes resident artist, @velocity128 to close the night for our nostalgic journey.

Summer is here and we are back and ready to provide the neon-drenched, vintage 80s sounds of an alternate timeline you all love with our 4th iteration of SynthCadia!

This SynthCadia will be celebrating and promoting the release of @danielquasar fourth album and debut on @retrosynthrecords 'Memories Of A Future Never Came', a collection of hard-hitting synths, dreamy soundscapes, and intentional lyricism.

Returning to our usual and wonderful hosts @vicebeer, Come for a night of synth-infused music that will have you dancing, dreaming, and thinking about infinite futures while enjoying some local award-winning and collaborative beers!

Providing the tunes will be the previous SynthCadias star performer @alex_lightspeed with a dj set this time around and of course long time SynthCadia resident @velocity128.

SynthCadia has another special night of Synthwave and Retro flare-this time with a Cyber-Futuristic theme!

Another @rosso.corsa.records alumni: @alex_lightspeed will be releasing his sophmore full length album on Rosso Corsa Records, April 23rd, 2025. A dark, dystopian romance, Cyber-Punk themed album that captures the high octane cybernetic action and often times the hauntingly beautiful stillness of a dystopian future. Lightspeed has been a well established figure in the local EDM scene and has reached a far reaching audience through his Synth endeavours. Now part of our local Collective, Alex knowledge, experience and resources have been a HUGE boon to making sure our community will continue to thrive.

Join us in celebrating the eventual release and get a sneak peak of the album AND a SPECIAL LIVE PERFORMANCE of Alex and his Most Excellent Band at @vicebeer!

Our resident djs @moon__talk & @velocity128 will be holding down the night once again with a heavier, darker playlist.

We look forward to seeing you don your Leather Jackets, Polished Chrome Sports Bikes and Cybernetic Augments tearing up the dancefloor, while drinking some award winning beer at Vice Beer. Hang out with other members of the PNWC and see how you can be more involved!

We heard your calls and are itching to get the retro sounds back into your ears! The wonderful @vicebeer is welcoming us back as the hosts for our second installment of our SynthCadia nights!

This night is very special as it is also coinciding with the release of local artist @odditee_ EP 'Everlasting' on the legendary label Rosso Corsa Records! As such, the music of the night will be tailored to feature current and previous artists under the Rosso Corsa roster!

Including music from Miami Nights 1984, Lazerhawk, Mitch Murder, Jordan F, Highway Superstar, Ultraboss, Betamaxx and many more!

Whether you’re a music producer, a video editor looking for a soundtrack, or just want to hang out after work at Kiln, stop by and say hi! About your hosts:

Jonathan Lim has recently joined Kiln, produces electronic music (synthwave, techno, house, etc.), and is pursuing film scoring and music placement projects. He plays keys in a synthwave duo based in Washington, D.C. and also DJs on occasion. He previously performed in a synth rock band that toured across the U.S.

Chris Gruchacz is a regular at Kiln who performs with a variety of local bands. In 2017, he earned his BA in music production while singing and playing guitar, bass, keys, and trumpet in cover bands throughout the Pacific Northwest. He has composed music for two indie games and collaborated with other artists and an audio software company on lofi hip hop, synthwave, house, and cinematic tracks.

Chris and Jonathan would love to collaborate or remix your tracks, or create custom film scores for your video projects. Meeting other creatives and music fans would be great!
